Located in the heart of the vibrant village of St Aubin is a two-storey purpose built restaurant on the water's edge of the harbour pier. The development of a new restaurant involved demolishing the old Battrick's Boatyard and derelict one-man German bunker to provide valuable additional parking spaces.
The form follows similar contours to that of the previous building with a simple double pitch roof and large overhangs. The majority of the external walls consists of large glazed sliding doors that open onto external terraces overlooking the local marina and views of St Aubin's bay. The provision of lightweight glass terrace enclosure on the terrace also provides the flexibility of external dining both in summer and winter. The pallet of materials consists of vertical cedar cladding to complete the envelope, aluminium standing seam roof and stainless steel horizontal balustrade that compliment the surrounding nautical theme.
