_{The architectural design is intended to blur the physical distinction between 'inside' and 'outside', and experiments with the concepts of providing 'shelter' and at the same time the feeling of 'freedom'.}

There are three main architectural elements - large horizontally emphasised floor and roof planes, heavy, textured granite walls and almost non-existent glazing linking the two.

Whilst our approach is modernist, incorporating the latest materials and technologies to create a house designed on environmentally responsible principles, we have not forgotten the use of local materials. A landscape, with modern reinterpretation of the swaying marshy reed beds and other features common to the west of the island also help soften the contemporary architecture.
