In 2009 we completed 44 Esplanade, Jersey's largest, greenest office building of 100,000sqft for the JCN Group, now occupied by the large legal and fiduciary services provider, Ogier. The six-storey building with pavilion plantroom was designed to maximise commercial potential. However, through careful attention to detail, the façade modulates and becomes visually lighter higher up, so that the massing is tamed. The facades reflect the traditional and narrow plot widths of the Esplanade but are honest in expressing the framed nature of modern office buildings. Brilliant white pre-cast concrete with flashes of local pink granite and silver anodized aluminium glazing frames complete the design. Percent for Art sculptures, Doppelgänger and 2.5 million light years (artist Mariele Neudecker), further add delight. Significantly, Ogier House has a BREAM Very Good rating and was the first building in Jersey to achieve this.
