Some of us are lucky enough to remember the spark that inspired us to do what we do. Many may also empathise with how easy it is to lack the confidence to think we’d be good enough to become a construction professional.

Jersey Architecture Week 2024

Jersey Architecture Week was held in October at ArtHouse Jersey’s Capital House gallery, with an exhibition of local architects projects which ran alongside the Jersey Design Awards.

There were talks and events, open to all, and the space looked fantastic.

Waddington’s were delighted to see The Limes awarded a Highly Commended Design Award, we think the highest award ever given for affordable homes in Jersey.

The judges said:

“….The bold design of The limes is celebrated as a groundbreaking step in contextual responses to ‘place’, setting a benchmark for quality design….”

BIM 3D Clash detection - Private Residential Property

A tough learning curve, we’ve been honing our 3D drawing skills for this contemporary, remodelled new home. Enjoying the combined ideas of re-use, contemporary new architecture and a lush landscape setting, we are also becoming a ‘safer pair of hands’ as our 3D approach really helps to co-ordinate the overall technical design and detect clashes before they actually happen!

'Treasure Island' with Hautlieu Art Students

As part of their summer brief, art students at Hautlieu school were asked to explore ways in which an ornament or applied sculptures could be integrated into architectural facades in response to a buildings context, ‘ sense of place’ and its site history.

The project required students to delve deep into Jersey’s rich history and find hidden ‘treasures’ to catalyst their inspiration.
