…At the other end of the scale, it’s great to …At the other end of the scale, it’s great to have got Commended in the Jersey Design Awards for the frontage of this small development in St Aubins, in the Best Placemaking category. The judges valued how the contemporary contextual design enhanced the public realm and could be enjoyed by passers-by. Inspired by St Aubin’s rich maritime industrial heritage, the asymmetrical façade design is a mixture of granite, robust steelwork and malleable more playful steelwork- which doodle wave-forms across the garage doors and railings. A gentle reminder of ‘place’….
Delighted that The Limes won the only Design Award Delighted that The Limes won the only Design Award for affordable homes with a ‘Highly Commended’ in the Best Large-Scale New Build Development category. The judges focussed on how effectively the 3-dimensional building form is composed, the successful relationship with Jersey context and neighbourhood, its character and identity, the materials chosen, and the small but important details and the wider community benefits…
Congratulations Bruno for being the stalwart of ru Congratulations Bruno for being the stalwart of running and gaining the old man’s 2nd place yesterday, coming 6th Overall, alongside a fantastic performance by Jack Lutz, completing on his first marathon with a negative split and 43rd overall.

Exhibition construction starts tomorrow ready for the Royal visit on the 15th July.

Today we took him around site at The Limes which is nearing completion.
Bruno had the pleasure of spending time with Year Bruno had the pleasure of spending time with Year 10 students from Les Quennevais School this week, giving feedback on their work-in-progress designs to support their Design Engineer and Construct (DEC!) course.
 
Good to see some impressive 3D models of their designs – There were certainly some architects in the making!

Well done to GCSE and past Trident student, Charle Well done to GCSE and past Trident student, Charles Dubberley, on his Design Technology submission coming 2nd in his year! He combined a practical timber, turned, scented souvenir using lavender oil and referencing Jersey’s Corbiere lighthouse in an abstracted manner. What a great idea to trigger multiple senses of happy memories for tourists to take home. It was pleasure being a small part of your design journey.
